Introducing Mrs. Faradays - FARADAYS

CONSTANCE — VON DADELSZEN

FARADAYS’ co-founder and official Creative Director takes us through her current favourites for festive season dressing.

As the Creative Director for womenswear at Dadelszen, prior to lockdowns our co-founder Constance would travel multiple times a year to Italy and France for new season design and production meetings, where the luxury label's heritage ateliers are based. In time, strong relationships were forged with a number of the lauded luxury labels now on offer here at Faradays,
some of which share the same beautiful artisans, from Tuscany and Milan to Paris.

The frequent trips also led to the discovery of the likes of beautiful cult brands such as Alexandre Vauthier, Giuseppe Zanotti and Bordelle, each of which now proudly grace the Faradays store. With her co-founder and husband, Edward, Constance's last trip to Europe was in early 2020, to visit their suppliers and host a number of Dadelszen clients on a VIP trip. On this tour, the idea for Faradays was born - and Constance would soon realise, during this truly quite magical time, that she was also pregnant with their first son, Arthur Grey.

Faradays was to be about the celebration of centuries old heritage next to the pure joy of discovering something new – the true meaning of a sensorial escape, enjoyed in one's very own backyard;
A first for the Antipodes; for which she knew so many back home would equally adore.

This year, the launch of Faradays has become a jewel in the crown of the luxury offering of Auckland's cosmopolitan landscape; a culmination of Constance and Edward's love of
bringing the most beautiful wares for the wardrobe and the home to all like-minded lovers of fine and special goods.

And on the countdown to Christmas Day, Constance shows us how to combine some of her current favourites to wear from FARADAYS,
with a festive twist, and of course, with her little one now in tow, some appropriate mama must-haves in the mix!

FROM OUR CREATIVE DIRECTOR

THE DATE NIGHT LOOK

Sexy, but sophisticated is my date night mantra this season.

A hint of lingerie beneath a beautifully cut jacket is such a winning look; it’s feminine without being too overt.

Here I’m wearing my DADELSZEN Helena Jacket atop Bordelle’s must-have push-up bra (an absolute game changer), high waisted trousers by Alexandre Vauthier, and my first ever FARADAYS purchase, the iconic Givenchy Antigona Bag in rich red leather.

I always have red nails at this time of year and can never go past a red matching lip for the evening.

I love the way this bag echoes the same festive sentiment; and it’s large enough to fit all of my essentials, whilst still feeling elegant in size.

THE OFF-DUTY (BUT ON MUM DUTY) LOOK

Ideal for a holiday season BBQ with my son; Casual essentials are must for running after a toddler, and mine adores elephants, so this little Loewe bag has been a hit with him.

Here, I’m wearing the new LOEWE Tee under Alexandre Vauthier’s classic  denim jacket, and the adorable LOEWE Elephant Pouch.

Not shown, I paired this with my favourite Giuseppe Zanotti Ferox Sneakers in White and Gold, for a touch of glam without compromising on comfort.

THE FAIL-SAFE COMBO

Everyone needs an outfit that they can pull out at the last minute and know they feel fantastic in it.

For me, this black on black bodysuit and tailored trouser combination from Alexandre Vauthier is incredibly comfortable, whilst still offering enough va-va-voom for this time of year, thanks to the power shoulders and subtle sparkle accents.

Pair with some vintage earrings and you are good to go.

For those after little more coverage, the bodysuit also comes in a chic turtleneck option.

THE "I'M TREATING MYSELF" GIFT

No-one needs an excuse to treat themselves to something special this year and one cannot look past the iconic Bombe Heel, by Maison Alaïa.

My suggestion: don't rely on the heavy hints you've been making, or for Santa to get your memo. Take immediate action and buy yourself an accessory this season – one you know will spark joy each time you wear it.

You deserve it!
